Third time is a charm…

by Nona on October 3, 2009

Yes, I know.  I changed from typepad to wordpress.  I told you that was it, no more virtual moves.  HOWEVER, now, NOW, I’ve consolidated my website and my blog, for ease of use.  Of course, it’s at a new location.  Of course, you will need to re-subscribe to the new blog feed.   I hope you will.  Notice that now you can get all the best info about mind-body resources, coaching packages, and my blog all in one place!  I love that, and I hope you do too!

A big shout out and thank you to you all, for your patience, and, to Allie, the fab chica who re-worked my blog design.  Eternal gratitude to her.  And you.

Gratitude Junkies 10.2.2009 (the good friends edition)

October 2, 2009

Gratitude practice gives us evidence for one of my favorite quotes from Jon Kabat Zinn, “There is more right with you than there is wrong with you.”  There have been (and I’m sure there will be more) times that recognizing this has been a  [...]

A pause for Rumi

September 30, 2009

If you could only see your beauty,
For you are greater than the sun.
Why are you withered and shriveled in this position of dust?
A basketful of bread sits on your head
But you beg for crusts from door to door.
You are more precious than both heaven and earth.
You know not your own worth.
Sell not yourself at a [...]

The Open Focus Brain Experiment: Walking in Rome

September 28, 2009

What may not be entirely obvious in this picture is that walking in Italy – Rome in particular – is all about taking your life into your own hands.  From no sidewalks, to people driving on sidewalks, to streets so narrow it takes your breath away, well, I spend some time with SHOT NERVES when [...]

Mind-Body Mastery Group: Survey!

September 23, 2009

I read, and synthesize, a lot of books about stress reduction, healing, pain, working with the mind… you get the picture.  I was thinking the other day that it would be great to have a way to share all this knowledge outside of one-on-one coaching, for a much lower price tag.  I would like others [...]

Gratitude Junkies: Week ending 09.18.2009

September 17, 2009

Okay, okay.  We were having a weekly, well-loved life, but you know, I think acting on our compulsion to be gratitude junkies is FAR better.  I am always referring to myself  that way, so, the weekly gratitude jam will now have a  different name, same vision…
Whether your week has been amazing or not-so-amazing, practicing gratitude is good [...]

The purpose in our pain

September 16, 2009

In my dealings with chronic pain, something very important shifted at some point.  My practice had been focused, up to that time, on relaxing in order to make the pain go away, thank you very much. I recognized at some point (at the point of utter exhaustion, to be precise), that acceptance and surrender are [...]

Figuring it out

September 14, 2009

I have been blogging for a while now.  Not as a coach but as a long-time meditator and yogini.  Making the switch to blogging about coaching, I have had this feeling that I need to provide readers with concrete steps they can take to make their lives better in a very straighforward way.
Last night, I was reading [...]
